¿What is SolidariLabs?
A creative space where filmmakers and artists collaborate with community leaders to imagine and create new narrative projects with social impact.
We are a mutual support network of defenders and filmmakers, based on trust and solidarity, that provides tools to strengthen the struggles and ties of those who defend human rights, land, and the environment in Latin America.
Since May 2024, we decided as a team to organize and systematize the audiovisual archive of the five SolidariLabs we've completed. We transcribed and classified the material to create a video that showcases what we are, what we do, and what we dream of as a network.
Mice Warriors
The networks formed in SolidariLabs develop creative strategies to challenge mainstream media narratives that discredit social movements and seek to criminalize their leaders. We call these creative collaborations "Mice Warriors" a concept introduced in SolidariLabs to stimulate the creation of diverse experiments for social change and the defense of human rights, using accessible resources, rather than investing all resources in a single megaproject, i.e., a "Trojan Horse." "Trojan Horses" allow some experiments to succeed and others to fail, but we learn from all of them. Here we share some of the network's experiments.
